Leadership skills are among the most essential qualities to develop in today’s world, regardless of your major or industry. Yet, these skills are often difficult to teach effectively in a traditional school setting.
At ICEA, our mission is to build a community of future young leaders. Over the past several months, our training team has dedicated time and effort to designing meaningful leadership training. On June 21, 2025, ICEA proudly hosted its first-ever leadership training event for students.
The training team consisted of five trainers—Dedian, Youhyun, Rebecca, Kee, and Nikki—each bringing diverse backgrounds, from technology and education to athletic coaching.

A total of 16 promising young future leaders who have experience in volunteering at ICEA were invited to participate. This three-hour training session was packed with interactive activities and meaningful engagement. Instead of relying on abstract theories or jargon, ICEA’s trainers focused on real-life scenarios, allowing students to role-play and simulate leadership situations including conflict resolution, redirection and facilitated conversation. The goal was to equip them with practical skills they could immediately apply in coach meetings and in summer camp classrooms.
We’re excited to see these future young leaders grow over time, becoming well-rounded individuals with these essential life skills. ICEA’s first leadership training was a huge success, and we plan to hold monthly leadership trainings moving forward.
